FW Pride is a volunteer-driven 501(c)3 that works to put on area events that bring together the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and straight ally community including the festival at the end of July attended by over 12,000 people. Pride 2017 will be from July 21-22 at Headwaters Park and includes live entertainment, vendors, food, a beer tent, workshops, tournaments, KidSpace & a chance to meet others in the community. We also have a Pride March on Saturday at 11:30am starting in front of Headwaters. Other upcoming events include: 3rd Thursdays- LGBTQA Socials; Every 3rd Thursday starting at 6:30pm upstairs at Pint & Slice; Dinner not provided; speakers, performances, discussions and time for socializing; all ages; no minimum purchase required. Friends of the Soarin' Hawk is an organization for anyone interested in conservation of birds of prey, whether it be through rehabilitation, education or preservation of habitat. It is the chief supporting body of Soarin' Hawk Raptor Rehab. Members of the Friends of the Soarin' Hawk have the opportunity to volunteer for hands-on participation in one or more of the following areas: Rescue, treatment, flight conditioning and release of rehabilitated birds; Educational programs for young people, families and other members of the community, teaching about the important relationship between raptors and humans.
