For those of you who missed the announcement, this year's Edna Staebler Fellow is Hillary Walker Gugan. Hillary has a strong interest in historical domestic interiors and visitor experience in house museums such as Joseph Schneider Haus. Her project will examine how the immaterial culture of the Mennonites is preserved and communicated through the activities of the Joseph Schneider Haus. She also plans to evaluate the impact of cultural tourism within the Waterloo Region. Hillary hopes that she findings will shed light on how the Mennonite culture can best be experienced by the visitors seeking "authenticity."
