We provide Yoga classes within the community as a means of supporting our guardians at the frontline. Those who step up to deal with the often difficult and sometimes traumatic situations that arise. The list of benefits of Yoga is as long as a Yoga mat and include both physical and mental perks.

FAQ Who can attend Frontline Yoga classes? Frontline Yoga classes are available to all “Frontline guardians” and their supporters: Police, Paramedics, Firefighters, ADF members, Healthcare workers, SES/RFS and Surf Life Saver volunteers are all able to access free weekly Yoga classes. They can also bring one support person/family member with them. Members of the public are welcome by donation. What is a Frontline Yoga class? Frontline Yoga provides Yoga that is designed to unwind the body and mind. All classes are taught with trauma informed guidelines and are therefore suitable for those with stress, anxiety and PTSD. The classes focus on developing mental and physical strength and resilience and are suitable for all levels, including beginners. Where can I find a local Frontline Yoga class? Please be sure to check out our classes tab on our Frontline Yoga site or through our Facebook page. What do I need to do to attend a class? There is no need to book for a Frontline class, if it is your first class please turn up around 10-15 minutes early. Its beneficial if you can have a chat with your instructor about any health issues you may have. Things your instructor would like to know: Joint stiffness, limitation or injury including past surgeries Pregnancy or birth in the last 12 months Vertigo or untreated high blood pressure If this is your first Yoga class When attending your first class please fill out our health form, this contains important info and is a requirement of us as Yoga instructors. All personal information that is given to your instructor will be kept strictly confidential. Your instructor will have copies of the health form but you are free to print one and fill it out to take with you. ​ What do I need to bring/wear to a Frontline Yoga class? Wear something that is going to allow you full range of movement. A t-shirt or singlet with leggings or shorts is all you need. Check with the person holding the class to see if you need a mat or bring your own. How do I become a volunteer teacher? Our website has all the information you need to be able to become a Frontline Yoga ambassador and have your own class. Just head over to our site and look under the Teacher tab, the Welcome Pack has all of the information required. The Welcome Letter will give you the low-down! Let us know if you have any further questions by contacting us through our site or our Facebook page. Can I be a volunteer teacher without attending a workshop? We are running workshops for Yoga teachers all over the place! We encourage teachers to attend a workshop as soon as they can. The workshops are free of charge for volunteers and will encourage and inspire you with your teaching. Where do I find the guidelines? The guidelines can be found here. How can I find out about a workshop in my area? We have a Workshop page on our website and you can also follow Events on our Facebook page. Are the workshops only available to qualified yoga teachers? Anyone is welcome to attend…we have many ‘yogis in the making’ who come along to learn. The workshops are also open to local support services and healthcare providers. How do I advertise Frontline Yoga in my studio? We have A4 and A3 posters available for you to print. How do I organise a donation tin for my studio? Please contact us through via email. Let us know how many tins you would like and your address and we will send them out. Do you collect the donation tins? As we have participating studios all over Australia we ask that you bank the monies at your local Westpac branch. We will have a bank deposit slip and relevant information sent out with the tin. Is it possible to make a donation to Frontline Yoga via bank transfer or online? BSB 032529 Acct 332503 I have a space that can be used for Frontline Yoga – how do I get in contact with you? At Frontline we rely heavily on the support of others. Studio owners are welcome to get in touch here if they are able to host a class or would like to have us run a Teacher workshop. Do you run instructor courses? Frontline Yoga Inc. has a teacher workshop that runs over 3-4 hours that is designed to prepare qualified Yoga teachers to hold their own classes. Are you a Charitable Organisation? Yes, Frontline Yoga Inc. is a registered charity with ACNC How do I get a tax receipt for my donation? Once an online donation is received, an email is sent directly to your email account. My business would like to make a donation to Frontline Yoga. How can we do this? What can I do to help Frontline Yoga? ​ Great question! There are several ways you can support our mission and Frontline guardians. If you are a Frontline guardian: • Visit our Classes page on our website or our Facebook page to see if there is a class nearby. If not, let us know! • Provide a testimonial sharing how yoga or Frontline Yoga Inc. has helped you in your journey. If you are a teacher: • Become a volunteer teacher and offer a class at your studio. • Visit our Workshop page on our website or Events on our Facebook page to see if there is a workshop coming up in your area. If not, let us know! Community members: • Make a donation. • Attend a Frontline Yoga class in your area and make a donation. ​ ​ ​ Each week our number of volunteer teachers, studio’s and participants is growing so keep an eye out for classes and activities in your area. All classes are suitable for beginners and our volunteers teach with trauma sensitive guidelines in mind, therefore our classes are suitable for those with anxiety, stress and PTSD. Yoga is not a substitute for adequate medical and mental health care. It is the responsibility of each participant to ensure that you are physically and mentally fit for Yoga.
