The Hunger For Knowledge Geelong Foodbank is a charity created to supply food programs who feed those less fortunate with the Greater Geelong region.

Description

The Hunger For Knowledge Geelong Foodbank aims to provide food with dignity and without favor for all in need within the Greater Geelong region. Utilising food provided by Foodbank Victoria, FareShare & other community partners, we facilitate the feeding of many thousands of people every week. Our Foodbank has no paid staff, relying solely upon our team of dedicated volunteers to service the needs of our client agencies and food programs from our operations centre in Geelong.

The Hunger For Knowledge Geelong Foodbank was founded in order to supply food stores to charity food programs throughout the Geelong region. With a primary focus on children, at-risk youth, the working poor and the homeless, we establish, and supply food stocks to, school breakfast and lunch programs and community food programs providing either prepared meals, food parcels, or both. Our goal is to attract sufficient ongoing funding to enable us to supply every food program in need, allowing them to maintain or increase their services, whilst eliminating the need for them to expend their minimal funding on food purchases.
