The German American Society Arts Association brings you a Mother's Day Special. No Admission and open to the public. Sunday, May 8 3PM at the GAST Center in the Great Hall. Piano Recital by students of the Barthelmes Conservatory School of Music.. Refreshments will be served. Bring a friend or two. Donations accepted to benefit the Barthelmes Conservatory School of Music.
The Germanfest 2016 quilt winner is Jay Downie. Mr. Downie's company is the promoter of Linde Oktoberfest Tulsa. It was nice to have Mr. Downie attend and support our Germanfest. For those of you who didn't win this quilt, you will have another chance to win a handmade quilt during Christkindlmarkt in December.
GAST members are making tracks next week-end to Cole Camp, Missouri to take part in a music festival that "Celebrates our heritage through German song." The GAST Sanger will perform at Sangerfest and the GAST Blaskapelle will perform at the Dedication of the Immigrant Memorial. Spring has officially arrived! It was welcomed by the GAST Choir at Whiteside Park on May 22. Hubert Pollok organized his annual celebration at the Linden Tree planted many years ago in honor of his wife. The GAST Choir sang while the guests enjoyed danish sweets and coffee at the shelter. Lead by Hubie everyone processed to the tree where the wishes and thoughts of hope for spring were read from note cards that were then hung on the tree for other to see.

Thank you to everyone who came to Tulsa Germanfest this past weekend and enjoyed our food and German music. The GAST Volkstänzers (Folk Dancers) will perform and entertain you at Germanfest on Saturday, April 30 from 5-6 pm. They have a few new dances to show you and you can even join them in some of their dances.
