Description

The Get Your 150 program aims to empower Queen's University students to take control over their physical activity, health, and wellness. In 2013, the Queen's Student Health Survey indicated that only 23.9% of students were meeting the recommended standard of 150 minutes of physical activity in a week. In response, Athletics and Recreation launched the "Get Your 150" campaign, which aims to educate and promote physical activity to students. Why 150? According to the 2011 Canadian Physical Activity Guidelines, adults aged 18-64 should accumulate at least 150 minutes of moderate- to vigorous-intensity aerobic physical activity per week, in bouts of 10 minutes or more, to achieve optimal health benefits. That's 2 hours and 30 minutes, or 20 minutes per day!
