Description

GIRL JUST DIED is a theatre production company based in NYC that is dedicated to bringing to life new, exciting, and honest work that heavily features a variety of voices. Our creative spirit was kindled by working with Dare Lab in April 2014 to produce May Violets Spring. What a rush to explore the inner world of Ophelia, a female character whose death most know intimately but of whose life and motivations we know almost nothing. It's disheartening to watch voices be silenced in stories of the past, but it's even more aggravating to see theatre in a present that often manages to be even less progressive. We want nothing more than to be part of the ongoing movement to change that standard. Founded by James Parenti and Krystle Phelps in 2015, we're off to a running start this year with POPTART!
