Description
Classes are held at GKR Moulsham Lodge dojo every Sunday and Thursday throughout the year including all public and school holidays except Christmas (there is no training from 20th December to 2nd January). Please arrive at least 15 minutes before class starts to sign in and warm up. New members welcome. The Dojo is the big dance studio at SpringHeath Leisure, located within the grounds of Moulsham High School. Students and visitors should use the rear entrance of the school where there is parking for both cars and bikes. Go-Kan-Ryu (GKR) Karate brings the Martial Art of Karate in reach of everyone, regardless of age or fitness levels. Kancho Robert Sullivan, Founder and Chief Instructor, believes that every individual can learn and benefit from Karate training. GKR was established in 1984 in Adelaide, South Australia, and has since become one of the world’s largest karate organisations, with thousands of students training throughout Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Houston - Texas. Classes are disciplined, yet fun, allowing the whole family to participate, learn and develop at their own speed. We start children from as young as 5 years of age, and our older students are well into their seventies. We believe that people of all walks of life can enjoy the many benefits that karate training offers. Karate is not just a great form of self defence, but provides all students the opportunity to enhance their character and develop confidence, focus and inner security. Above all, we teach in a non-contact environment to provide a safe training environment and to encourage self-discipline and control.
