Description

Global Brigades (GB) is the world’s largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. Over 14,000 volunteers from more than 250 Universities have traveled to provide health, infrastructure, and economic development solutions to more than 300,000 beneficiaries in Nicaragua, Honduras, Panama and Ghana. The brigades revolve around 9 different programs: architecture, business, dental, environmental, law, medical, microfinance, public health, and water. The faction of Global Brigades that focuses specifically on the health-related issues of under-resourced communities is Global Medical and Dental Brigades; which is us. Global Medical and Dental Brigades work to provide comprehensive health services to a community that otherwise has limited access to health care. Over the course of the trip, student volunteers and Health Professionals spend three days in a community working alongside local community members to provide comprehensive health serivies that varry to suit the needs of the specific community.
