How To Get to Governors Island National Monument

Governors Island is now open until September 25, 2016. Governors Island is open to the public during the summer season (May-September). Ferry Service from Manhattan: There is daily ferry service from the Battery Maritime Building located next to the Staten Island Ferry Terminal at the corner of South and Whitehall Streets in Lower Manhattan. Take the 1 to South Ferry, the 4/5 to Bowling Green, or the R to Whitehall. Ferry Service from Brooklyn: There is weekend ferry service from Brooklyn Bridge Park's Pier 6 at the foot of Atlantic Avenue. Take the 2/3/4/5 to Borough Hall, or the R to Court St. https://www.nps.gov/gois/planyourvisit/directions.htm

After 6 days on the island the rangers need a weekend and clean uniforms, so there will be no programs on Wednesday, September 3, but Ft Jay will still be open! See you on Thursday!
