Landscape and wedding photographer in Carlisle, Cumbria, on the edge of the beautiful Lake District, although I am willing to travel for any photographic work. I have been interested in photography for a number of years and what started off as a hobby and accompanied my other interest of walking developed over time. I started planning walks to coincide with sunrise or to a location that would make great photographs. When my kids were born I loved capturing their special moments. Those cheeky grins when they had just done something mischievous (which was most of the time) and the personal side of capturing memories for me that I can look back on, that were not posed but were natural. It meant I took more and more pictures. I still love getting out and taking photographs and can often be found ruining a good walk by stopping and setting up another new picture. After taking landscapes photographs for myself for a few years I was then fortunate enough to be asked by two friends to do their wedding photos. I was very nervous; but they liked my pictures and had a great deal of faith in me. I decided to try it and from then I have not looked back. I still keep to the ethos of what I started out doing - I like to capture moments. I don’t have a style as such I like to speak to people see what they want and try and capture pictures they will love coming back to. Whether it is posed group shots or a serious of photos taken with a journalistic approach, to tell the story of the day. I always do my best to capture your memories, how you want them. More recently I have been asked to do specific photos of special locations for people and started offering corporate photography. I think that for a wedding/event or a commission to work the “client” needs to get the images they want and for me to do that I need to be approachable and friendly. I will always do my best to get the photograph you want captured in the way you would like to see it.
