Groovie Smoothie aims to promote two very important and current issues: healthy eating and sustainable living. - We want you to feel as passionate about sustainable living as we do or at least become aware of the issue if you haven’t already. Groovie Smoothie invites you limit your carbon footprint by cycling for your smoothie, saving you 25p as well! - Running a sustainable project is our top priority. We order British grown fruit & veg when possible and the others are delivered via ocean freight, which produces fewer emissions than being delivered by air. - All our ingredients are organic. This means no artificial extras are added which is both better for the earth’s soil and your body as organic fruit & veg is more natural and nutritious. - Our food waste is composted at the Green Lancaster Eco-hub and the cups and straws we use are recycled. However, we do encourage you to bring your own cup to cut waste and this saves you 25p each time. - We think that knowing where your food comes from is important. Next to our ingredients, we show exactly where in the UK or the world they have come from. - Healthy living is essential but not always easy when you’re busy with uni work. We encourage you to keep fit by cycling for your smoothie or if you’re not keen, you can still look after your body by choosing a nourishing smoothie. - Groovie Smoothie is run only by volunteers in order to keep our costs low and provide you with cheaper healthy food!
