Established in 1991, GroundSwell has showcased a wide range of styles and genres of contemporary music, capturing the diversity of new music activity taking place in Manitoba and around the globe. The Artistic Directorate is made up of Winnipeg composers Gordon Fitzell, Jim Hiscott, Michael Matthews and Diana McIntosh. Each season, GroundSwell also welcomes a new Guest Curator (GroundSwell’s 2014-15 Guest Curator is composer Örjan Sandred). Now in its 24th season, GroundSwell continues to present a wide range of contemporary music in a creative and engaging manner, and is a leading presenter and educator in the field of contemporary music in Canada.
