Description

www.kidsgrowild.co.uk Who are 'GroWild'..? 'GroWild' is a new outdoor woodland activity centre set up and run by Holly James. After completing her Level 3 Forest School Leader Training and with experience of working with children for over 5 years, Holly is now supported by a dedicated team of outdoor education specialists including forest school leaders, play leaders, bushcraft instructors, green wood workers and environmental artists. Our purpose-built camp, set on 'White House Farm', is a beautiful urban farm but with the tranquility of the countryside. We think it is the perfect place for children to connect with nature in a fun, adventurous and magical way! The activities we offer are both fun and educational enabling children to become immersed in their experiences and connecting with their natural environment - good old fashioned muddy fun! Please visit our new website for more info: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Where is White House Farm? The farm is set in beautiful countryside on the very edge of Norwich, and is easily accessible for everyone. There is plenty of parking and a farm cafe with baby change facilities and toilets. White House Farm is located just off Blue Boar Lane in between the large Tesco and the Sprowston garden centre. Please avoid the entrance via Salhouse Road, this is a farm track and not nice on your wheels! What sort of activities do you offer? Den building, nature trails, archery, bushcraft, tree climbing, mud pie kitchens, storytelling, campfire cooking and more! We also have access to the farm to use facilities on site, plus plenty of fruit picking with apples, strawberries and pumpkins galore! Kids can get back to nature in a tranquil and private woodland farm setting with a range of groups and events from 'wildtots' termly groups to summer holiday adventure clubs for over 8's (no parents allowed!)... Tell me more... The workshops are a brilliant opportunity to get kids outside foraging for materials, learning new skills, enjoying nature, treasure hunts, outdoor painting and making bug and bird habitats. Using the purpose built outdoor facilities available, kids will have fun exploring the farm and private woodland site. 'GroWild' events are perfect for kids who curious about the world around them and love to explore nature, wildlife and growing things! Please visit our new website for more info and to view our termly and summer holiday club programmes: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Can I bring siblings? Yes, of course. We do not charge for babes in arms and any siblings who wish to take part in a session can do so at a discounted rate. Will the weather affect the workshops? The farm cafe has a cosy indoor space with toilet, baby change and cafe facilities so we can head indoors if things get wet and windy. However, the sessions are aimed at getting kids outdoors as much as we can so please bring warm and waterproof outdoor clothing and footwear. Please be aware clothes will get muddy and paint splodged so don’t turn up in your Sunday best! Do I need to bring anything? Please make sure you are wearing correct clothing including sturdy/waterproof footwear. We ask that children wear hats outdoors in the warmer months, plus you may want to bring some sunscreen and insect repellent. We have water, toilet and hand washing facilities on site. Do you have a toilet on-site? YES! We have toilet facilities in the car park area plus a secluded/private 'pop-up' camping toilet in the woodland area. We also provide potties/disposable toilet bags for under 5's if they get caught short! Outdoor plant and/or food allergies... Please ensure you notify your workshop leader at least 24 hours if you or your child have any allergies. If you arrive at an event/workshop and you have NOT notified the leader then you will be asked to book onto an alternative workshop. This is to ensure the health and safety of all of our staff, customers and YOU! Medical conditions/special needs... We aim to make our events as inclusive as possible and do our best to accommodate individuals’ specific needs. If you or someone in your group has a medical condition or special needs then please contact us to discuss.
