Description
The word Gweilo is a common slang word some Asian cultures refer to foreigners as White Devils. Chef Bill Pratt has travelled around the world exploring multiple cultures and wanted to put his own Chef Spin on 1000 year old Asian recipes by creating unique dishes bursting with flavour. When touring Hong Kong for the first time in 1994, Chef Bill fell in love with simple street food filled with unique flavours and has continually worked to improve and create his own Asian inspired recipes. Eating noodles in Japan or beef bulgogi over a charcoal pit in Korea, each experience helped him understand the local culture and then create something unique. Why does a spring roll have to be round? Why can't it be pressed into a rectangular shape giving more surface area during the cooking process so it’s crunchier. Why does it even have to be circular at all, why not create a triangle and fill it with shrimp and flavourful noodles instead of bean sprouts or cabbage? Why can't we use the other white poultry meat when making chicken balls so we have Sweet and Sour Turkey Balls? At Gweilo Asian Noodle bar, were all about creating an affordable experience that keeps you coming back time and time again. Chef Bill Pratt
