Bringing fresh off the runway hairstyles, cuts and colors straight to the South, Gwynne Mims Salon is the new ultimate personal revamp destination in Florida. Opening May 1 at 1620 Margaret St. (at Oak St), Jacksonville, FL, Gwynne Mims Salon is ecstatic to be at the center of the vibrant up-and-coming neighborhood of historic Riverside. Founder, Gwynne Mims, began her career in beauty nearly a decade ago in New York City at the prestigious Eva Scrivo Salon. After building a diverse network of contacts and an enviable clientele list in Manhattan, she took on the Global Lead Stylist and on-air personality role for Ojon Haircare, an Estee Lauder company. Ever the student of her craft, Gwynne embraces current techniques and trends and has studied extensively with Vidal Sassoon, Bumble and Bumble, Goldwell, Wella and L’Oreal Professional. She recently made the decision to bring her expertise back to her hometown, and fittingly chose to exercise her cutting edge techniques and skills via the eponymous Gwynne Mims Salon. Gwynne is widely renowned for her effortlessly chic tousled bridal and special event styles, hand painted highlights accomplished through the much sought-after French balayage technique, and perfectly executed layers wherein she utilizes both the scissor and the razor. Gwynne’s work and expertise has been featured in countless blogs, on the most glamourous New York Fashion Week runways and in national leading publications such as Marie Claire, SELF, The New York Post, W, Allure and of course, Vogue. The salon will house four styling chairs and will employ Wella and L’Oreal Professional products. Oribe Haircare products will be available for purchase in her beauty boutique, which will include an assortment of hair styling tools, home candles, and spa body care products.
