The Halifax-Dartmouth & District Labour Council is the central labour body for the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM). It is composed of Local Unions, which elect delegates to attend monthly general meetings at which decisions of the Labour Council are made. The Labour Council delegates elect an Executive Committee, including "table officer" positions such as President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary, which guide the work of the Labour Council on a day-to-day basis between monthly meetings. Meetings: The Labour Council meets monthly, beginning at 7:00pm, on the second Wednesday of each month.
