The Hall of Remembrance opened on November 11, 1993, and is located in the Legion building on the banks of the Tay River in Perth, Ontario. It occupies most of the second story and has artifacts dating from the 19th century Fenian Raids and Boer Wars, to World War I, World War the Korean War, the Cold War, and peacekeeping missions, up to the recent war in Afghanistan. The displays fill six rooms, and emphasize the participation of Perth and area men and women in the service of our country. Note on the hours: Only open May through Remembrance Day, Nov. 11, unless special group tour arranged through the Legion office. The purpose and objectives of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 244 "Hall of Remembrance" museum are to provide a source of education and promote the remembrance of the servicemen and women of Canada’s Armed Forces from confederation until the present. To honor their service and sacrifices. To accept preserve and display to the public the military artifacts that have been donated by branch members, families, and the general public.
