Luck today = gay. Turns out head unit is the culprit. Loaner amp played okay for about 20 mins. Pull car out to wash - no sound. Amp not turning on. No remote out. Disconnect signal, amp turns on???? Plug signal back in and amp goes apeshit and turns off. Not protect tho - it loses remote. Tried my phone (isolate cables and radio). PLAYS FINE. Pull radio, try phone there (keep cables, isolate radio) PLAYS FINE. Plug radio back in and now no signal at all lol. Welcome to 12 volt :)
One day build just about done. Of course the amplifier was faulty, so the loaner goes in. Compo set, custom door speaker adapters, xovers behind glove box, fix the radio install, and power/signal for a 4 channel in 5 hours. Big thanks to Gmoney for the help. Made a solo 2 day run into an easy day.
Interesting discovery today. Have an fresh cut on my hand...who'd have thought the dust generated by grinding/shaping cured fibreglass soaked fleece (no 'glass mat in it yet) would get in such cut and cause it to hurt?
Old school build. Early 80's whip. Some vintage front end power. Mix in modern Hybrid front end, add some pro audio 8's (yup, we want loud) and back it up with a 15 in a magic box. Should be fun
Sometimes we get little reassurances you're doing something right. Get an email from a multi-time customer. I supplied product and did an install several years ago. He changed cars, and came back to have product removed from car 1 and installed in car 2. He's recently changed cars again - guess what - we're moving it to car three. Sometimes quality work and honest service do pay off. All is not lost in the 12 volt game.
At the thinking garage. Hmmm....what to build. Oh ya - enclosure time
Poor Corey - can't win lol. Just as we go to work on his car, the shop air compressor tossed the belt. So instead of working on his car, he helped ME take that side of the shop apart, tear out the compressor and fix it. We spent the day fixing my stuff instead of his :)
Poor bastard. All he wanted to do was replace a failed rear airbag. The car isn't in the air for 10 seconds and bang - the other side fails. Scared the shit out of everyone in the shop. Sometimes you can't win lol.
Lets promote and improve autosound in Winnipeg and area.... Can't let this sport and hobby die the way it has in other places. I'm thinking a little startup group. What to call it? Winnipeg Autosound Cartel? lol. any others?
Hmm....full day Saturday wide-open at the moment. What do I put in work on?
