Hardtwood was founded in 2014 from very humble beginnings; born from the small kitchen of husband and wife team, Troy and Johanna, who shared the love of creating hand poured and beautifully fragrant soy wax candles. What had started as a hobby (and mild obsession) soon evolved into a passion for sharing our creations. In an effort to 'keep it in the family' Troy's sister, Kate soon joined the team and we began exploring all the different ways we could get our products to market - starting with our first market stall in Townsville. Hardtwood is now a manufacturer and supplier of some of Australia's highest quality hand poured natural soy candles. A little later in 2014, our creative juices flowed again, this time into other product areas and we soon released our first range of handmade drop style fabric earrings. Our earrings were met with an outstanding reception from our lovely customers and soon our earring orders eclipsed those of our candles. ...and where to next. Hardtwood continues to grow from day-to-day and we are forever grateful to our valued customers for supporting us on our journey. We started by simply wanting to bring a little of our own creativeness to the world and what we found was the joy we brought to others. We are excited about the prospects for Hardtwood and will soon explore how we can expand our business beyond our current locations. We want to bring our handmade products to new audiences everyday and have some exciting plans for not too far down the road.
