Traditional Chinese Medicine Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has undergone continual development over 50 centuries as the main method of therapy in China for thousands of years. This still continues today with the development of modern diagnostic techniques and knowledge. Chinese Medicine regards the body as a whole, with a network of meridians connecting and coordinating the internal organds, Qi (vital energy), blood, muscles, bones, skin, and the rest of the body. The Clinic The Harmonious & Healthy clinic offers a full range of therapies under the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which consists of a combination of acupuncture, massage, herbal remedies and advices on improving health. In addition, we also offer special treatments such as moxibustion, cupping therapy, ear candle and reflexology. Our Doctors Dr. Yao has extensive clinical experiences in a wide range of specialties. She began her learning in Chinese Medicine as a child, with her grandfather who was a well-known experienced Chinese Medicine Physician in the Province. She later went on to complete a degree in the Henan Province Traditional Chinese Medicine University and became qualified as a TCM physician herself. She worked in the main city hospital and became the youngest consultant in the hospital in 1998. After coming to Edinburgh in 2002, she continued her work in the same field and gained clinical experiences becoming a specialised doctor in many medical conditions including obesity, infertility, sress and eczema. Our Treatments Our treatments consist of a combinaton of acupuncure, massage, herbal remedies and advice about diet and excercises. Additionally, there are special treatments such as moxibustion, cupping therapy, ear candle and reflexology. Since the conditions of patients are different, the lenghth of treatment can vary from few weeks to several months
