One day, a friend recommended I read Louise Hay’s book, "You Can Heal Your Life®". Initially, I was very sceptical - her quote "You change your thoughts, you change your life" made me ask how could it possibly be this simple when I was in so much pain? I started to practice Louise’s simple techniques and applied her principles - the effect has been profound and life-changing. By identifying the old negative beliefs that undermined my every action, I have freed myself and have created a happy and abundant life. Who doesn’t want that? I love people and I believe that we are all the same in two regards - no one wants to suffer and we all want to be happy. Hay is a motivational speaker, teacher, and the bestselling author of dozens books and CD’s including You Can Heal Your Life and The Power is Within You. Since beginning her career as a Science of Mind minister in 1981, she has assisted millions of people in discovering and using the full potential of their own creative powers for personal growth and self-healing. When we really love ourselves, everything in our life works. Louise’s Story Louise’s philosophy emerged as a result of a very unpleasant upbringing. Her background is one of poverty and abuse throughout her younger life. When Louise moved to New York City she became a successful model and married a successful businessman. However when the marriage ended 14 years later, it was then her own healing journey began. Louise started attending the Church of Religious Science (established by Earnest Holmes in 1927) and eventually became a minister in 1981. It was during this time that she compiled her first book, Heal Your Body - (the little blue book) – It details the mental causes of physical illnesses and gives positive thoughts (affirmations) to assist in dissolving the illness and creating health. Later confronted with the challenge of being diagnosed with cancer, Louise used her own philosophies to heal herself. She used an intensive programme of affirmations, visualisations, nutritional cleansing and psychotherapy. In 1985 she began her famous AIDS support group ‘The Hayride’ which grew from from 8 men coming together in her living room into a weekly gathering of 800 people in an auditorium in West Hollywood. To date Louise’s book You Can Heal Your Life has sold over 35 Million copies worldwide and now in her late 80′s she is still active in creating blogs, interviews and online content to inspire and motivate.
