We're Building Stronger Health Care Teams
The HealthFusion Team Challenge (HFTC) is a national extracurricular competition between mixed interprofessional teams of final year health students. The HFTC provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate expertise in teamwork and collaboration as they develop a management plan for a client with complex health needs. The HFTC was launched as an annual event at the University of Queensland in 2007 drawing on a model successfully pioneered at the University of British Columbia. The HFTC now comprises dozens of local university and regionally-based events all over the country. In 2009 the HFTC Project Team expanded the event to include an annual National event. In 2012, this event was extended to teams from New Zealand under the new name, the TransTasman HFTC (TT HFTC). The highlight of each HFTC event is the public competition where student teams come together to present their management plans to a live audience and panel of expert judges. The HFTC is the southern hemisphere's premier student interprofessional event, attracting some of the nations best and brightest to compete. Many of the students who compete in the HFTC go on to become future leaders in their professions. www.HealthFusionTeamChallenge.com
