Hello and welcome! My name is Helen (although thats probably quite obvious!) and I love to cut bits of paper into beautiful things. I think my love of paper developed when I was a child, I loved to create things, draw, paint and generally make a mess. I have always had a slight obsession with stationary, I can never have enough different types of paper or pencils... thankfully, now I have an excuse to have all these lovely things surrounding me. Now that obsession has extended to books and typography too. I both design and cut my own work but I also make use of the abundance of designer talent there is out there in the world of paper cutting, you will see me credit different designers on my page for things I have cut but not personally designed, some of these will be for sale and some (if I have been unable to get the commercial licence for) will be just to show you pretty things. My own work involves designing and cutting bespoke one off pieces of what ever you want (within reason!!), the design process can take some time, I use both a pencil and paper and a computer to do my initial designs then its on to the cutting, for which I use only a scalpel (and lots and lots of blades!). As I love all things paper I like to work with all types of it, I prefer working with heavier weight more textured paper as it gives the piece of work a more interesting finish, but be sure I will always have something to suit your needs. As well as bespoke works I also create paper cuts of things I love, I am lucky enough to live in the beautiful city of Bath so am never short on inspiration. I am also a qualified horticulturalist (thats a gardener to you and me!) so I take a lot of influence from the botanical world. I also have several rabbits and guinea pigs who all have very individual characters, and lets face it, who doesn't love a bunny?!
