Through the leadership of Sheriff Michael L. Wade, the Henrico Sheriff’s Office is responsible for the safety and security of the inmates in our jails, the citizens and staff of our courthouses, and the serving of court ordered documents.

It is the mission of the Henrico County Sheriff’s Office to protect and assist the citizens of this county by providing security for the jails and courts; rehabilitating inmates through vocational, mental health, education and work programs; executing mental health commitment orders and serving civil process documents. This mission is achieved by providing professionally trained staff and state of the art technology to meet or exceed the standards set forth by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, American Corrections Association and the Department of Justice, PREA Standards.
