Description

After studying Art and Design at Newcastle-under-Lyme College and Fine Art at Staffordshire University, Brian Terence Roberts began to study the art of iconography under the direction of Efrem Cerrasco at St. Aiden's Antiochian Orthodox Church, Levenshulme, Greater Manchester.

Holy Cross Icon Studio occupies a single terraced house in the city of Stoke-on-Trent and consists of several workshops dedicated to specific media and processes. The ground floor workshop is used mainly for preliminary drawing/design, painting and gilding, with additional workspaces for printmaking and gessoing. An appended tiled space given over to the sanding of gessoed panels can be found to the rear of the building. Our first floor workshop is divided between office space, wood carving area, library and visual reference centre. Third floor facilities provides an area for woodworking and art materials storage space. We also have a timber constructed workshop providing storage space
