Description

Begun as a small, parish pre-school in 1959, Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School has grown into one of the largest independent schools in Metro Atlanta, as well as one of the largest Episcopal schools in the United States. A fully accredited, college-preparatory day school for 3-year-old through 12th-grade boys and girls, the nonprofit school occupies 49 acres, with separate Primary, Lower, Middle, and Upper School facilities, a fine arts building, two modern gymnasiums, and sprawling athletic fields and facilities. In fall, 2015, a state-of-the-art Math, Science and Commons Building opened in the Upper School. At every level, HIES offers an enriching program based on the Episcopal education tradition of inclusion, exploration, and respect for self and others. Academic expectations are rigorous. The arts, physical education and community service are also emphasized as important aspects of each student’s development. HIES prepares students not only for the next step in their academic careers, but also for success and satisfaction in all areas of their lives. Students develop strong foundations to address life’s challenges while pursuing personal goals and gaining valuable experience in the areas that most interest them. The goal of HIES is to provide an atmosphere that encourages students to reach their full potential and become involved and responsible citizens.
