Homeland Earth is a non-profit organization with a focus on refugee assistance and advocacy. We share a common humanity, the refugee child and the stock broker, the pained and the painter, the hopeless and the happy. We share a common space, and a common time, in a world marked by its imperfections. That commonality compels us to act, to use our ability in rendering others able, to take every step we can towards the perfecting of our world. At Homeland Earth, that human commonality compels us to act in the interest of the world’s refugee populations.

Description

Homeland Earth is a new, international non-profit organization. Our aim is the provision of assistance to refugees, as well as advocacy regarding the rights of refugees and regarding options for their resettlement in new lands. We believe that an inadvertent by-product of the evolution and spread of nation-states is the possibility that masses of people can become stateless or displaced, and thus profoundly vulnerable. We believe that the solution to this dilemma lies in treating such persons as humans, with fundamental rights, rather than as citizens of a foreign, failed state. Thus, a broad-based international response is always imperative, enabling the resettlement of stateless or displaced persons within functioning states, or as a new and forward-looking option, within a new state created for the purpose. In providing assistance, we act irrespective of race, political convictions, religion, or creed. Further, we observe a strident neutrality and impartiality, and claim the right to deliver humanitarian assistance without hindrance. We believe, however, that impartiality does not mean silence. An informed world is a better world, and so we reserve the prerogative to bring adverse treatment and extreme need to light. In undertaking all activities, we hold ourselves and our partners to the highest ethical and professional standards. We believe we can only be instruments of change by “standing on the shoulders” of our supporters and donors, and so we believe it is imperative that we keep accountability as a core tenet of our operations. At no time will more than fifteen percent of a donation to Homeland Earth be spent on the administrative concerns of the organization.
