We will be back in Black Forest tomorrow clearing and chipping slash. Call or write if you want to volunteer. 719.749.6286 or firstname.lastname@example.org

We were out in Calhan yesterday working a tumbleweed job for a widow. The tumbleweeds had blown in and surrounded her house and trees and presented a significant fire hazard. With a small team we were only able to clear the house area and some of the trees. We will be trying to find a youth group to help us after school is out.
We went out and did an emergency sandbag job yesterday for an elderly widow. We were able to work in a break in the rain. If you would like to be on our emergency call out list please let us know by sending us an email at email@example.com
Byron passed the S-212 wildland fire chain saw certification yesterday. A very intense course with sixteen hours of in class lecture time and three full days of in-field work with saw in hand. Still one more field day to complete the course work but was able to pass all of the in-field test and certification requirements mid-day yesterday (day two of the field work).
We had another great workday today and were able to catch up with the projects that had to be cancelled last Saturday and Tuesday die to the severe weather.
We were back out yesterday and had another great workday! We dropped, limbed, and bucked (cut up the big parts of the trees). There will be a team out tomorrow planting some trees.

We have put that project on the calendar for this coming Saturday (May 16th). If you are available to help this Saturday please let us know so we can properly plan and send you the details. Best contact is through email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Great workday today. We were able to plant over 100 trees today and cut a bunch of small burned trees. By days end we completed two work orders. We are back out tomorrow working to start catching up for lost days to weather last week.
URGENT! We have an elderly woman caring for her disabled son who has called asking for our help. Her home took a direct lightening hit and she has been forced to move out. She would like help moving her belongings to a storage unit. She also was able to get a one time grant for the access ramp for her son to be able to get into the house. She would like to disassemble and move the ramp to storage as well. We need some trucks and strong backs! Please let us know as soon as possible if you would be available to help with this project Friday. You can let us know by emailing us at email@example.com.
We had a great workday in Black Forest on Saturday. We were joined by a new volunteer and a team from Black Forest Chapel. We cut and cleared several downed trees and dropped and cleared five trees. We have a busy week coming up with workdays in the Black Forest on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. We have room for more volunteers. Let us know if you want to come out with us by sending s an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We dismantled and loaded the shed Saturday. Great team good fellowship. Was wonderful to work side-by-side with the family.
Saturday's workday was excellent! We spent the day working with the homeowners and were treated to grilled hamburgers and hotdogs for lunch. We were able to clear more trees than we had expected. The homeowner advertised free firewood and it was being loaded as fast as we could get it cut. Our official season is closed. However, we will continue to work an occasional work order depending on need and weather. The 2016 season will open May 1st and we are already putting work orders on the calendar. Mark the 5th of December for this years Christmas party. More details to follow.
We had an awesome workday today! After a week of rain and cold we started off at about 40 degrees (f) and dry. We had two new volunteers who joined us all the way from Longmont! We were able to drop many trees that were of a concern to the homeowners. We were able to get the trees limbed, cut up, and stacked. Great time of fellowship made work sweet.
Byron has made it home from fire response in Middletown CA. We are attending Southern Colorado VOAD training this Thursday and are planning a workday this Saturday. We will be updating the web page later today or tomorrow morning to get the new workdays on the sign up form.
We had an excellent workday yesterday in the Black Forest. The team was able to cut around 50 trees, limb, and stack the slash. The weather cooperated to provide just the right temps. Great time of fellowship. Byron continued working fire relief in Middletown CA. It is sad that the news dropped the story of the fire weeks ago. Over 1,200 homes destroyed in the local communities. Please keep the volunteers and residents in your prayers. There have been 30 people who have accepted Jesus as their savior so far.
The team is heading out this morning for a workday in Colorado Springs. Byron is still in Middletown CA working fire relief. Please keep all of the volunteers and homeowners in your prayers.
Middletown CA fire update: Temperatures have dropped making the days a little easier. Teams are working hard but, volunteers are in short supply. There was a report last night of two more people who accepted Jesus! We are working an urgent project this morning for a woman whom the city has told that they will be on her property this afternoon with front-end loaders to scoop all the ash. We are racing over this morning to sift. Please pray that we are able to comfort her as we work. Also please keep praying for safety and wisdom.
Middletown CA fire update: Byron continues to work fire response in Middletown CA and the surrounding areas. He worked to assessing for the first couple of days and is now running teams sifting and dragging metals from the burned home sites. Temperatures are hot and the volunteers are working in Tyvek jumpsuits. Please continue to pray for the community and volunteers.
