How To Get to Hotel Washington

How to get to Hotel Washington: 1) From SCHIPHOL AIRPORT: Every 20 minutes a train is scheduled from Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall, there is a large sign with train information. The trains to the Central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to step 2 or 3). 2) From Amsterdam CENTRAL STATION: Take city tram no. 16 or 24 from the square outside (upon exiting Central Station the trams are located on your left side), and get off at tramstop “Ruysdealstraat”. Walk along the curb in the direction the tram was travelling for about 150 meters. The first road on the left is the “Frans van Mierisstraat” – Hotel Washington at number 10 can be seen from the corner. 3) (ALTERNATIVE) From Amsterdam CENTRAL STATION: Take city tram no. 5 from the square outside (upon exiting Central Station the tram is located on your right side), direction Amstelveen and get off at [Concertgebouw / Museumplein]. Continue walking on “Van Baerlestraat” in the same direction the tram was travelling, and after 3 blocks turn left into the “Frans van Mierisstraat”. Trams in Amsterdam are normaly running from: 07:00 AM to 00:30 AM. 4) From SCHIPHOL AIRPORT (ALTERNATIVE): take bus 197 or N97 and get off at busstop “Museumplein”. Continue walking in the direction the bus was travelling, cross the intersection. The seccond street on the right is the Frans van Mierisstraat, Hotel Washington is located at number 10 on the right side. Ticket information: - Bus 197 or N97 One-way ticket is available within the bus (4,00). - Train One-way ticket fare Schiphol-Amsterdam Central Station (€3,80). - Tram Tickets are available within the tram (2,80) or at the local ticketoffice (daytickets).

General Info

Hotel Washington is situated in a very quiet residential area near the Concert hall (Concertgebouw) and the cultural centre of Amsterdam. The main Dutch museums, i.e. the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the Museum of Modern Arts, are in the vicinity of our hotel. The Young & Trendy neighbourhood Called the Pijp is only 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel, here it is possible to visit the picturesque Albert Cuyp Market and the Heineken Museum (Heineken Experience). The city centre (Leidseplein), which is the centre nightlife of Amsterdam, is within 12 minutes walking distance, and you will find here the Jazz bars, pubs and restaurants, the famous Leidsestraat where the shopping area begins and keeps on going till the Central Station. Other suggestions for an evening out are the Holland Casino and the Comedy Club.
