About the HRP/RCMP Integrated Traffic Unit: In October 2005, the current HRP/RCMP Integrated Traffic Unit was created with twelve members drawn from Halifax Regional Police and Halifax District RCMP. The unit’s primary goals are to improve traffic safety in HRM, address chronic traffic complaints and foster community relations through participation in civic events. Officers assigned to the unit drive motorcycles from spring to fall and switch to patrol cruisers in the winter.
