Hurstbourne Dental Care is a general dentistry practice that specializes in cosmetic and family dentistry. We strive to deliver the highest quality of dentistry and an affordable price. Please, get to know us a little better and take a moment to familiarize yourself with our backgrounds: Dr. Amy Thorne-Brown, DMD, grew up in the South and graduated from Auburn University in 1999 with a degree in chemistry. Following her graduation from Auburn, she moved to Louisville, KY to attend the University of Louisville Dental School. That is where she met her husband, Dr. Austin Brown. In 2003, she graduated and earned her DMD. After graduation, she wanted to open her own practice. Through determination and hard work, Hurstbourne Dental Care was born. We opened in August of 2003 and have established a great patient base. Our doors, of course, are always open and ready for new smiles to come in. Dr. Amy Thorne-Brown has many other interests other than dentistry; scrap booking, traveling, and being with her family are a few of her hobbies. True to her love for outdoors, Dr. Amy sponsors Jeffersontown little league. Dr. Amy has one daughter, Annabelle, and is expecting a baby boy in July . Recently our practice grew with our newest team member, Dr. Rhonda Hale Swanson! Dr. Swanson grew up in central Kentucky. She received her bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of Kentucky and attended dental school at the University of Louisville. She completed a general practice residency at UofL Hospital and has received multiple academic awards throughout her career. Dr. Swanson’s personal interests include horses and travel. She loves being on the farm and being with family and friends. Dr. Swanson enjoys building personal relationships with patients and is passionate about dentistry. The Office Manager, Erica Zimlich, was born and raised in Louisville, KY. She attended Seneca High School and was also home schooled. She earned her diploma in 2004. Throughout her career, she has always loved working with the public. She joined the staff of Hurstbourne Dental Care in October of 2009. She maintains the front desk, answers the phones, and is the first person to greet you with a smiling face when you visit our office. She met her husband, Dale Zimlich, in 2006 and got married in 2009. Erica has a son, Mason and is the proud step-mother of two wonderful boys, Eric and Johnathan. They currently reside in Mount Washington, KY. She enjoys cooking, reading a good book, and taking walks with her miniature schnauzer, Zoe. Their family is also active in the Bullitt County Upward Sports Youth Program. Our hygienist, Gina, was born and raised in Louisville, KY. She graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2006 and is a member of the American Dental Hygienists Association. She began working with our practice in September 2011, and has been a great asset to our team. Also, the patients really love her. She enjoys cooking, reading a good book, and going to the movies with her adoring husband, Nate. She has a cat named Johnny Rotten, based on his personality.
