The 6th Annual I AM Yoga + Art + Music Festival will be held September 17th - 18th, 2016 at Veteran's Park in downtown Tulsa, OK.
Founded in 2011, I AM is a Tulsa based organization dedicated to uniting the yoga, art and music community through conscious events with the goal of raising awareness of the light within each human being. Our creative team pushes the boundaries creating memorable and transformational events and opportunities for expansion and growth both personally and as a community. We believe that uniting together in our community creates more sustainable change than working apart. We believe that all humans are the essence of love and we intentionally create experiences where that can be shared with as many as possible. We know that we are all deeply connected and celebrating that connection reminds of the love that exists between all human beings. We believe there is a new kind of revolution happening on the planet and we call it a LOVE REVOLUTION. “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” -Martin Luther King A New Kind of Business The idea for I AM was said to be divinely inspired in one of those quiet moments of clarity, using courage and trust to move from a simple idea to physical manifestation. The I AM Creative Team that currently works to manifest the inspiration is a group of six friends, spending hours each week laughing, creating, loving and pushing their own boundaries of what is possible. When forming the business, we knew it had to be a different way. Using our core principles of love, oneness and responsibility, we continue to find unique ways to make our efforts are always in alignment with our values. I AM is more than a business, it’s more like a tribe, a village, a community. All I AM events are created in an effort to maintain a benefit to all involved, including the sustainability of our planet. While many of the I AM events are free and open to everyone, we know that it is not only our responsibility to do our part to reach a hand out to those in the community but an opportunity to experience the love of giving. As I AM explores the evolution of conscious business, we challenge ourselves to find creative ways to experience financial sustainability and long-term viability. Uniting Yoga in Tulsa Creating more opportunities for Tulsans to experience the many benefits and joys of yoga is just one of the goals of I AM. With the intention of spreading more tolerance for differences while honoring the many paths through life and yoga, we know that more people will come to know the real essence of yoga. The word yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word meaning “union”, not only the union of the self in body, mind and spirit but also the union of all human beings. Many people in many ways have interpreted yoga and we believe there is no one right way to experience yoga. Just as with many other philosophies and belief systems, the paths may be different but the goal is the same. Mostly, we understand that humans are seeking to be happy, know peace and experience love. Knowing that are many paths that lead a person to the destination, we find it valuable to honor all of the paths, uniting together to celebrate differences and diversity instead of focusing on consistency, sameness and conformity. www.GlowYogaTulsa.com Honoring Creativity Through Art Originally inspired as a fundraiser, the Drunken Artist event is a live art event with live music. Artists are set up to create painted art during an evening while guests watch the creative process, bidding on the art pieces they are most inspired by while sipping on a glass of wine and enjoying live music. At the end of the evening, all art will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. Artists will have an opportunity to create spontaneous and inspired art while being observed by potential owners of the art. The amazing creative process unfolding in the course of an evening is a reminder of the beauty of the creative process available to all people. The 2013 Drunken Artist event is scheduled for March 9th at Manic Pixie in downtown Tulsa. www.TheDrunkenArtist.com A Festival to Celebrate Love, Connectedness and Community The I AM yoga, art + music festival was first held in October 2011 with more than 700 attendees in a park in Bixby, OK. Bringing together musicians, artists and yogis in one place in the spirit of harmony, kindness and community. From the idea of the festival, a movement was put into place to go beyond one weekend a year but to continue to offer this celebration throughout the year. The 2012 I AM festival had more than 50 vendors in attendance, dozens of musicians and yoga instructors, educational and inspirational workshops, a kid’s zone, gypsy camp with belly dancing and camping. Each year, the I AM festival creates deeper connections as people come together in one of the most harmonious festivals in the area. Many people walk into the festival and can “feel” the difference as if something has suddenly come alive within them. The festival offers each person attending a chance to see a loving community working together, honoring one another and supporting all of the many paths through life. Vendors are set up throughout the festival, sharing life enhancing and sustainable products and services. The 2013 festival plans are underway to discover even more ways to expand the reach to more Tulsans. With sights set on Centennial Park located in the up and coming Pearl District near downtown Tulsa, the festival will be partnering with local businesses in the area while offering attendees an experience to remember for a lifetime. Activities such as belly dancing classes, dancing, and dozens of yoga classes from beginners to advanced will make a well rounded scheduled for this year’s festival.
