The Idaho Music Educators Association is a nonprofit educational organization of current and former music teachers and administrators across Idaho in public/private schools and universities and colleges, including private studio teachers and music educators living in retirement. IMEA is a state affiliate of NAfMA, the National Association for Music Education, a 85,000 member organization representing music educators across the United States. Our goals include the advocacy of music with government, school boards & administrators, parents & society; betterment of conditions for teaching music to our students; recognition and opportunities for outstanding student musicians; exploration of better and alternative teaching materials and methods; and mutual support through meetings, conferences, and individual help.

We are extending the deadline for the mailing of All-State Registration payments. All of the paperwork must still be mailed and postmarked by November 30th, but the payment does not need to be postmarked until Friday, December 4th. Please print two copies of the fee statement. Send one in with all of the contracts and medical forms. Send the other one in with your payment. If you miss either deadline, you will need to add the $25 per student late fee.

My family is moving to idaho from south dakota. we arrive on next week, thursday or friday. this may be past your deadline. my daughter, 4th grade is a great singer, and had got into the all city choir here in SD however cant since we are moving, i am hoping she can do something similar in idaho. Are there options or auditions she can try out for? St Maries is where we are moving to. Couer D Alene is not out of the question travel wise.
This summer the IMEA Website underwent a major update. It has been redesigned to look and work better on mobile devices as well as on desktop machines. There are a still a few minor bugs to work out, but if you find something that doesn’t work, be sure to notify Wayne Millett, the webmaster, with as much information as possible. Information is also available on the website for the upcoming IMEA All-State/Inservice Conference. Applications are now being accepted for the All-State Groups, including the new All-State Elementary Choir and Middle School Choir being sponsored by the Idaho ACDA. Performing Group applications and Session Proposals are also being accepted. Deadlines for the groups is October 9th. Session Proposals are due October 15th.
