IKEA Edinburgh opened this morning at 10am. Business as usual. Thanks again to all customers for their cooperation and understanding during yesterday's evacuation.
Thank you to all customers that have visited the IKEA Edinburgh store today and we apologise for any inconvenience caused. The following statement was released by our store manager and we hope to begin trading tomorrow as normal. “We can confirm that earlier this evening a fire was found in our self-serve warehouse. "As soon as we were made aware we safely evacuated all co-workers and customers from the store and the fire services arrived on site shortly after. "The fire was quickly brought under control and we are now in the process of assessing the damage and investigating the cause. "The store remained closed for the rest of this evening, however we hope to open for trading as normal tomorrow. We apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused as a result of the early closure of the store today.”
