"Yoga helps me more than anything. If you store something heavy emotionally in the mind, it stores as well as the body. So the reverse is true, if you're able to release whatever it is from the body, you can release it from the mind" Woody Harrelson testimonial on yoga
"What hatha yoga does is, if you consciously hold the body in an asana, it can alter the way you think and feel and experience life."Sg
"The word Yoga literally means union. Yoga does not mean twisting of body, tying limbs into knots, holding of breath or doing some other circus. The word Yoga means, in one's experience, everything has become one. It is a system of raising human ability to perceive, to enhance individual human beings to realise their ultimate nature. Yoga is the most profound exploration of the very mechanics of life." Sadhguru
Attention Chicago! I am now teaching Surya Kriya workshop here in a private class format. It is a great joy to share this powerful practice with you. What is Surya Kriya then and how is it different from Surya Namaskar? Surya Kriya is a potent yogic practice of tremendous antiquity. "Surya" means "sun," and "kriya" refers to an inner energy process. The original or the real practice is Surya Kriya. Surya Namaskar has been derived out of Surya Kriya and is also referred to as the country cousin of Surya Kriya. It is a way of aligning yourself with the sun and a much more refined process which needs enormous attention in terms of the geometry of the body. If you want a strong spiritual process in the physical practice that you are doing, then you do Surya Kriya. Surya Kriya raises the samat prana, or solar heat, in the system. It also balances a person's left and right energy channels, leading to stability of the body and stillness of the mind. This strong foundation becomes the basis to explore higher dimensions of life. Surya Kriya is not a physical exercise. It's a very subtle process. It can leave you in ecstasy if you do it properly. - Sadhguru
