Do you Fringe? Come experience our annual festival in August & shows all year long in Downtown Indianapolis! Official website: www.indyfringe.org The IndyFringe Theatre complex is composed of the 100-seat IndyFringe Basile Theatre and the 60-seat IndyFringe Indy Eleven Theatre that both serve as low-cost rehearsal and performance spaces in downtown Indianapolis. IndyFringe is one of five theatres and up to seven stages along Mass Ave that host the annual IndyFringe Festival for eleven days every August. The rest of the year, the theatre complex offers an eclectic mix of emerging artists, new plays, established theatre groups, returning Fringe performers and community events which continually change and attract a diverse audience. Theatre collaborations include: Jabberwocky by Storytelling Arts of Indiana, a monthly gathering of regular people who share their collective memories. Topics include enduring love stories, random acts of kindness and "Our Muslim Neighbors." Winter Magic Festival brings together the top magicians from around the US. every January. Indianapolis is fast becoming a center for magic thanks, in part, to the work of Fringe performer Taylor Martin who kick-started his career at IndyFringe. DivaFest is a celebration of female playwrights who currently only produce about one-fifth of all stage productions in the U.S. IndyFringe enthusiastically provides a platform for their creative endeavors, many of which include strong feminist messages. OnyxFest is a theatre festival for African-Amercian playwrights who are also dismally under-represented on U.S. stages. We are determined to be the vehicle to expose audiences to the voices and talent of new and emerging black playwrights. RENT THE THEATRE: The theatre is available for rent for rehearsals, shows and private events. For prices and availability contact pauline@indyfringe.org.
