No baby should go hungry... Infant Crisis Services, Inc. began in 1984 as a service project of a Sunday school class at Westminster Presbyterian Church. The agency was housed for the first ten years of existence in the back of the old 2nd Presbyterian Church at NW 10th and McKinley. From 1995 to January of 2009, the organization operated out of free-standing building located at NW 39th and Penn. In February of 2009, through a gift from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation, Infant Crisis Services moved into its current location at 4224 N. Lincoln Blvd. The agency is funded entirely by private donations and grants, receiving no federal, state or United Way funding. What began as a service project is now a vital social service agency helping more than 1,200 babies and toddlers each month.
Infant Crisis Services is a privately funded nonprofit, 501(c)(3) federally tax exempt organization providing the basic necessities such as formula food, diapers and clothing to needy babies and toddlers, birth to 48 months. We are the only organization in our community exclusively providing this service. Services are provided Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. A referral is necessary from another helping agency, an appointment is required and the baby must be present. Services are provided five times during the baby’s first 48 months.
