To be considered, please send your application materials to yaldafrica@gmail.com by April 21, 2015! Include "Young Africa Works" in the Subject Line. Good luck! ************************************************************************** The MasterCard Foundation will be hosting our inaugural “Young Africa Works Summit” in Cape Town, South Africa on October 29-30, 2015. This meeting will bring 300 key influencers together to discuss solutions for youth unemployment on the Continent. This year, we will focus on agriculture and agribusiness as a prime source of opportunity for youth employment and entrepreneurship. One of our primary goals for the meeting is to engage young people, ensuring their voices, perspectives and ideas are heard. In light of this, we would like to request YALDA to nominate up to two motivated youth, preferably a mix of young men and women from diverse backgrounds, who are ideally between the ages of 18-24 and are making strides in agriculture or agribusiness. Keeping in mind the competitive nature of the selection process, and the presence of high profile speakers and professionals from various organizations, we ask that you carefully nominate those youth who would be best suited to attend the Summit as participants. The MasterCard Foundation will provide transportation, accommodation and visa costs for the youth delegates. For each individual nominee, please provide us with a short biography that includes their name, email address, age, gender, and an outline of their experiences and accomplishments in agriculture, with a particular emphasis on their leadership and entrepreneurial skills. cc: Youth Alliance for Leadership and Development in Africa (YALDA)

A message from Dr. Raymonde Agossou, Head of Youth Division, African Union Commission: "Dear Oxford YALDA and IMAUS Delegates, Thank you very much for this excellent feedback and above all sincere congratulations for this excellent outcome of your inaugural session of the Intercollegiate MAU Summit. As usual, you amaze me with the quality of your work and believe me, we truly appreciate your engagement and seriousness in implementing this activity every time you commit for it. Unfortunately, I have never had the opportunity to attend. Yet, I hope my colleagues and I will be able to take part or to engage some of the youth in the African Union to this wonderful experience. Thank you for the Post-Summit Reports and relative Decision of the summit. Keep it up – long live YALDA! Dr Agossou"
