Description

BLIA Toronto Young Adult Division, working in partnership with the Greening Sacred Spaces, will hold a 2015 Interfaith Youth Forum. OBJECTIVES: This event hopes to build bridges, find common grounds, and foster friendships among youth from different faith and cultural backgrounds. We believe that, through listening to others’ life stories, thoughts and experiences, core positive elements of faith, and visions for a better future, people of different faiths can gain mutual understanding of their similarities and differences, accept those differences, and genuinely respect one another. THEME: “Future and Hope – Youth, Faith and Passion” will be further explored in two panels: i) The Power of Faith, Values and Passion ii) Giving Back to your Community and Youth Voices on Social Issues Count. The event program includes an opening speech, a keynote speech and two panel discussions. It also welcomes other elements such as interactive games, creative demonstrations of faith, and action projects for building ongoing partnership across the faith lines. Light refreshments will be served during the event. WHEN and WHERE: The 2015 Interfaith Youth Forum will be held on May 2, 2015 from 1:30pm to 5:00pm at the Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto. Address: 6525 Millcreek Drive, Mississauga, ON L5N 7K6 WHO ARE INVITED: We cordially invite young people of diverse religions, ideologies and value systems, who are between 16-30 years of age, to participate in this event. We hope that with your support, this event will be able to welcome the greatest diversity of participation from all over Toronto.
