Conceived by rock ‘n roll; born the bastard child of punk. If you like your sounds mean and nasty, with dirt under the nails 'n blood on the strings, the Fox is your first and last stop on the one-way, fast-lane highway to hell. Now in it’s 25th year, The Intrepid Fox is back with a vengeance: quarter of a fuckin’ century, and still going strong. 2014 finds us fortified up in Archway, in the middle of the island; right next to the tube station. We’re open til 4am at the week-ends, midnight all other days. From it’s birth, in the heart of Soho in the 60’s, once patronised by rock ‘n roll faces of the era such as Ronnie Wood, Keith Richards and Rod Stewart. Hell-raising actors Richard Harris and Peter O’Toole made it their stomping ground and the 70’s brought the Sex Pistols, with Malcolm Mclaren declaring it “like an old friend”. Slash could be seen propping up the bar in the 80’s whilst in the 90’s such legends as Lemmy could be found at the fruit machine, Zakk Wylde at a corner table. Re-locating to St Giles in 2006 the Fox continued to fly the metal flag, being hosts to the likes of Iron Maiden & Bullet For My Valentine, Airbourne & Devildriver, Zodiac Mindwarp & Buckcherry. Intrepidfoxlive was established as a live venue showcasing the hottest new talent and firm favourites alike. 2014 sees the third incarnation of the beast in Archway, North London: providing a safe haven for London’s rockers and goths, punks and metallers alike. Always entertaining and fun, frequently deranged and impossibly handsome…the wily old Fox continues to rock this town like a motherfucker…! ‘nuff said.
