The Iranian School of San Diego is an educational entity affiliated with the Persian Cultural Center of San Diego (PCC).
Founded in 1988, ISSD is diaspora’s first accredited Persian-language educational institution. It offers classes on various language levels, Persian music (setar, santour, daf, etc.), theater , dance, painting, and social activities ranging from parenting classes to stress management workshops, ISSD relies on a tireless body of volunteers in both its administration as well as PTA team PCC is a non-religious, non-political and nonprofit 501(c) (3) national organization, established in 1989, in San Diego, California. PCC, known in the community as Kanoon, seeks to preserve, promote, and celebrate Iran’s ethnically diverse and historically rich culture through education, and the medium of performing, literary, and visual arts. In this way the organization creates a sense of identity in future generations of Iranian-Americans, builds community, and furthers cross-cultural understanding.
