As part of the Information Technology Academy, the Tribal Technology Institute provides programming to diverse students in the state of Wisconsin.

Description

ITA currently has two TTI programs located in Oneida and Lac du Flambeau, WI, based on the IT Academy's very successful Madison model. All students participate in the following required components of the 3-year program: - 2-week Technology Institutes, held in the local communities during the summers before Sophomore and Junior years. - Annual 4-day Spring Conferences, held at the UW-Madison Campus (all travel, room & board expenses paid). - 2-week residential Capstone Institute, held at the UW-Madison (all travel, room & board expenses paid) during the summer before Senior year. - Completion of an internship, job shadow or research paper during Senior year. - Quarterly face-to-face group trainings with TTI staff. - Online curriculum during academic year. - Optionally, a small group of select students may be selected to represent the program as Student Ambassadors on the Silicon Valley Study Trip in California, in lieu of attending one of the Spring Conferences. These students would participate in an all-expense-paid week long visit to the Silicon Valley to visit technology companies such as Google, Cisco Systems, and Apple, Inc, as well as museums, universities and other technology-related activities.
