From Peewee Children (starting at age 3) to Senior Adults, everyone learns in a program well-proven by many of Jang Star's qualified and licensed Masters and Instructors. Jang Star not only teaches self-defense and physical conditioning, but also stresses the skills and knowledge to hurdle through life's challenges. Patience, confidence, perseverance, and dedication are all part of the Jang Star way. Jang Star's instruction is well regarded throughout the area by students who have come to appreciate the comprehensive and motivational classes taught in a fun atmosphere. Jang Star Taekwondo School is headed by Grandmaster Soon Kil Jang, who is a South Korean native. Grandmaster Jang holds an 8th Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo, Hapkido, and Ho Shin Sul. He is also a skilled weapons expert with his specialty being in swords. He is fluent in Korean, English, and Spanish and has over 45 years experience teaching children & adults alike. He is a former Commando Instructor for the Chilean Army, Member of the High Chilean Police Force, and former Drill Instructor of the Bolivian Police Academy. He was also a member of the Anti-Terrorism squads for the 1986 Asian games and the 1988 Summer Olympic games in Seoul. As the head of Jang Star, Grandmaster Jang has received numerous recognition and awards which you can read about below in the 'Awards' section along with a timeline of our school's history.
