I'm getting to explore a little more of Texas this moring while meeting a perspective bride at her beautiful and historic venue in Abilene. It has been a great week for lovely consultations.
I am almost done with the webpage updates. All the content is written and uploaded. I just need to add a few more photos and upload the last couple of weddings onto the blog. Watch for the reveal later this week!
Isn't technology amazing? I was able to "meet" a sweet couple, from another state, this evening by conducting their consultation via skype.
I just received the Valentine's Day party sign up email for my son's class, and my Pinterest feed is full of red, pink, and hearts. What are your feelings about Valentine's Day? Love? Hate? Ambivalence?
When you are (or did) search Pinterest for wedding or party ideas what type of terms did you use in your searches? Did you use theme adjectives like the season, venue, or style (i.e. "rustic fall", or "elegant winery")? Or specific descriptors such as your wedding colors and/or the names of specific flowers (i.e. "pink peony bouquet")? I was looking at my Pinterest analytics today and I think I spotted a trend but would love to hear directly from you.
I have finally fixed the issue of my website's hijacked Google search listing and new content is coming this week!
I am working on updating my web content for the Texas launch and discovered that when you search for my website on a search engine that my listing has been hijacked. The web address is listed correctly (sometimes the description is, sometimes it is not) but when you click the link you will be taken to a black market shoe seller. While I work on fixing the issue the only way to access my website is to type in the full address or follow the link provided here on FB or on Pinterest. I apologize for any inconvenience and hope to have it fixed soon!
I have discovered that over a decade in busy office environments has prepared me for working from home. The skill set needed to juggle phone calls, walk in clients, and constant background noise while making progress with projects are pretty much the same as dealing with the interruptions of a busy two year old and the sounds of his play (and, when I'm desperate, the sound of Daniel Tiger.) :)
A quick PSA: The website is getting refresh and so is a little messy and bare bones at the moment. Please excuse the mess. I plan to have the full, new look up soon. If you cannot find the information you are looking for, drop me a line, I'd love to chat with you! Thank you for your patience!
I finalized a contract today with a sweet bride who wrote me after her consultation to say, "I wasn't that excited about flowers for most of our wedding planning, but now I'm thrilled and can't wait to see how everything turns out!" And, I can't wait until this spring when I can share the Southwestern Glam design she and I developed. If you aren't sure how to meld the styles, colors, or flowers you love for your wedding, let's chat. Those seemingly impossible juxtapositions is where we will find the style that is authentically you.
A good day at the "office"? When the mother of the groom sends you home from rehearsal with a dozen farm fresh eggs!
I am starting to book spring 2016 weddings! If you know anyone getting married (or planning an event) in 2016 now is the time to send them my way.
This month I have been spending a lot of time in front of the computer doing the backend work necessary for successful events. So sadly, I don't have any pretty pictures to share. But, happily the last two Saturdays I have had face to face planning meetings with this summer's wonderful brides, and today a consultation with sweet perspective clients. I appreciate the communication email enables. But, it is such a joy to engage, in person, with my marvelous couples. After all, what I do is about them, their days, their marriages.
