Description

Hello my name is Jessica Black and I am 30 years old. I have been working with young children for the last 11 years. I am currently employed by the Special School District as a Behavior Specialist. I absolutely love what I do and wouldn't change it for the world. My lifelong dream has been to open up an Academy for all learning styles. I completed my internship at Jenkins Memorial Center in Pine Bluff, Arkansas . The Center had a blended student population. I believe this creates such a good atmosphere in which children can learn. I’ve also had the opportunity to pilot a “Preschool Ready” classroom with the same type of setting. I found that the students learn so much from each other! I need your help in raising money so that I can get my Summer Academy up and running. The money will be used to secure a location and a 15-passenger van. With the van, the children and I can explore Saint Louis. All year long, we sit in the classroom and learn about cool things. My theory is that learning can be accomplished both in and outside of the classroom. So in the summer let's get out, explore, enjoy the weather and learn things about the City first hand! Kids just want to have fun. So as adults let's show them how to have fun and learn at the same time.... Knowledge is power
