As many of you know, Decatur stole us away from Greenville, SC. However, I did learn that Greenville does "Yappy Hour" once a week for people to bring their dogs. They give the dogs "yapp-etizers and pup-tinis" and allow them to meet other dogs... Does anyone know of something like this in metro-Atl?
Everything I've learned in life has been through experience. I have now learned that after eating hot wings, I need to wash my hands before touching anything near my eyes. #stayinschool
We had a great time at the Atlanta Beer Festival this weekend - we will be calling the winners today, and thank you to all that made John Oxford State Farm the "buzz" of the event!
Our office will be closed today in observance of the national holiday known as "College Gameday." We will reopen Tuesday morning, which should be enough time to celebrate wins and shake off losses. Roll Tide.
Please help me welcome the newest addition to our office. Hope McCoy started last week and has made an immediate impact!
I know I haven't posted anything in over a week, but I wanted to thank you guys for not allowing me time to get on here - record start to the month, and we appreciate all of our new (and of course existing clients) for keeping us busy!
Attention: Normal human beings that enjoy good food, live music, and family friendly entertainment - Mark your calendar for September 21st for the 2nd annual Open Streets DeKalb @ Emory Village. Plan on coming out to enjoy Sunday Funday and support a great cause! More details to come.
Embarassing, but I just thought about the fact that there is no ocean-front property in Arizona... I've been blindly singing along to King George for 20 years. #tooADHDforcountrymusic
So I heard the Bachelorette ends next week, and I was thinking about leaving the office earlier on Monday nights... now I found out another reality show with previous contestants starts the next Monday. Does this show ever end?!
I posted several creative, insightful, life-changing, non-insurance related tidbits this past week. I just realized none of them processed thanks to my phone. I bet agents have had this problem for decades.
Heavy heart today learning of the passing of one of our newest clients. What a wonderful, upbeat person and I wish I had known her longer. It took until the phones stopped ringing to really set in, but I wish the family the best during this tough time.
Most of you know that I watch all sports on DVR and don't tell me outcomes until the next day just in case, but someone please tell me to watch the first minute and fast forward to the 83rd minute next time! USA!
I apologize to all of our clients if our system happens to crash today or tomorrow. Although we have four T1 lines (probably unnecessary), with the golf and soccer tournaments going on there may be a little extra bandwidth required!
Has anyone ever received a fortune cookie that had a negative message? Better yet, has anyone ever played the lotto numbers on the back?
I am so glad that Chris chose Whitney! No, I don't watch the show... I am just glad he picked someone already so I can control the Monday night tv again!!
It's that time of year again. State Farm is now accepting applications for the Neighborhood Assist grants. If you have a worthy cause please contact me to discuss possible eligibility. The focus is generally on environment, youth, safety and eduction. Congratulations to past winners including Trees Atlanta! Just another way to shop local & give back to the place where it matters most.
If you're enjoying a snow day and are tired of commercials about suing insurance companies... give us a shout. We're fully staffed and ready to protect your assets from the guys on those commercials:)
Lots of buzz surrounding my commercial yesterday. In case you missed it, it was on the pre-game show before the pre-game show! $4.5M just wasn't in my advertising budget for the 1st Quarter... #riskreward #savingmoney
This day in history: On February 1, 1898 the first recorded auto insurance policy was written. I know what you're wondering, and no I did not write it. I believe the guy did it on his smart phone through an app. Either way, the annual premium was $11. #inflation #anachronism
Friendly reminder to keep those faucets dripping tonight! Side note - I think this is my first insurance related post in about 6 months. #goodneighbor
Regardless of your political or foreign policy beliefs, let's give a big thank you to all the men and women that have served our country past and present. We've got it pretty good, but it's taken a lot of hard work and sacrifice to preserve these freedoms. Happy Veterans' Day!
I just passed a woman wearing a shirt that read, "LETTUCE TURNIP the BEETS." Now I'm wondering who told her to keep the noise down enough times to justify buying a t-shirt?
Does anyone have any pumpkin carving tips? I usually go with the standard snaggle-tooth and triangle eyes, but I usually end up just feeling sorry that I wasted a solid pumpkin...
Deadlines are a necessary evil. Fortunately, if you haven't enrolled in healthcare coverage yet, I will be here (probably still on hold with Healthcare.gov) for a few more hours. The deadline is midnight, but I don't plan on being here that long:) Shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org if you need to discuss plan options.
Saddened to hear about the loss of another one of our clients today. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, and I'm still in shock at how many of these tragedies are occurring with those between the ages of 20 and 50. Heavy hearts heading into the weekend...
My goal: "I do not want to save you ten bucks, and potentially cost you ten grand!" Write that down.
Immediately following a conversation today regarding the holiday season, in an office with a Christmas tree, I recommended that a client wait until December to do something... Is Open Enrollment over yet?!
I realized today as I had dog duty that leaving work at 4:00 is the worst idea ever in Atlanta traffic. I could leave at 4 and get home at 7, or I could leave at 6:45 and get home at 7. #Ineedachopper
For our clients out there, you know that I usually perform a "Life Needs Analysis" as part of our review. What I didn't know is that Walt on the hit show Breaking Bad does the exact same thing in season 2 while figuring out how much he needs to put away for children's education, loss of income, and not leaving debt for the family... I'm no Chemist, but that guy's formula is spot on!
