So humbling to meet & talk to some homeless folk from our community; one young man & his family have been living in a car for two months. He just cried because today was the first time that anyone offered him any kindness. We were able to give him a shower, provide new clothes, toiletries, food & a haircut. He came looking sad & is leaving with a huge smile on his face.
It's an amazing day here in Orlando; Joy staff & volunteers are doing a great job feeding & clothing our local homeless & folks on low income
Community exercise with Phyllis
The hair & nail bar is very busy
People are arriving & we are serving our community
We care You matter
Getting set up for Project Care - people waiting to use our services already; our team is awesome - these are just the outside team!
Press Release Atlanta, June 17, 2016: Launching in response to the devastating killings in Orlando, the "Will Listen With Love" Project is a national support network comprised of pastors, therapists, spiritual directors and community support providers who have volunteered their time to offer safe and affirming space for grieving members of the LGBTQIA community and their allies to be heard. Unlike formal therapy, these "listening sessions" are intended to support the LGBTQIA community as they process their sadness and anger over Sunday's massacre in Orlando. "While the violence in Orlando represents the largest mass killing by a single shooter in modern US history, it also represents a hate crime - a planned, premeditated attack on a vulnerable minority people group - making this all the more painful and heartbreaking. We need one another in these moments, and we are pleased to be partnering with such talented faith leaders to provide support and education to all of us longing for a more just and generous world." - Rev. Cameron Trimble, CEO of the Center for Progressive Renewal Those interested in speaking with a "Will Listen With Love" listener may make their request known at: [MailFilterGateway has detected a possible fraud attempt from "qd994.infusionsoft.com" claiming to be www.facebook.com/groups/WillListenWithLove/] which will go live Friday, June 17, 2016 at 7pm EST. Once a request is received, volunteers will connect interested parties with an appropriate "listener" who will reach out via contact information they provide. English and Spanish speaking volunteers are available. Referrals will be offered for those who seek formal mental health services. If you wish to volunteer your time as a trained listener, as an outreach or awareness-building assistant, or would like to register as a supporting organization, please contact Teresa Pasqual e Mateus at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Greetings friends,** This is a gentle monthly reminder that the Living with Loss-Healing with Hope group will still be meeting this Thursday, June 16th at 7 pm. In light of all that has happened in our community following Sunday's tragedy at Pulse Nightclub, there will be an additional bilingual facilitator with us to help support the group. Come and be supported as we journey together and find hope in the midst of it all. And per the group's desire, we are extending the time of our group gathering to 8:30. Also understand that you are free to leave earlier if you need to...it is all good! Feel free to invite anyone else who might be in need of support....your presence and experience adds to the healing power of this group. **Additionally, Joy MCC will be holding a bi lingual prayer service on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm. Everyone is invited to attend. Sent with peace and love, Rev Shirley and Skip PS As always, I pray this finds you healing with hope!
