She has filed over 1000 cases in for clients in Cumberland, York, Androscoggin, and Oxford counties. Joyce grew up on a small dairy farm in Saco. She graduated from Thornton Academy and Harvard University. She returned to Maine for law school, and graduated from the University of Maine School of Law in 1990. Aside from a short stint as Staff Attorney for Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Maine (now Money Management International), Joyce has been practicing law in Scarborough since 1990, first at Picher & Associates & later Picher & Barrett. She opened Scarborough Legal Center in 1996 after the death of her boss, Frank Picher. She is a board member and past president & secretary of the Kiwanis Club of Scarborough, and also a member and past secretary of the Saco Valley Land Trust. She has interviewed local high school students for the Harvard Club of Maine since 1993. She has represented many pro bono clients through the Maine Volunteer Lawyers Project, and also currently represents clients through Pine Tree Legal Assistance's MASH (Maine Attorneys Saving Homes) program. Joyce, her husband, Edward Clark, and their two children live in Saco.
