The Jupiter Hotel has all the amenities a modern traveler needs, a variety of room options, and versatile event spaces that are regularly utilized by the city's creative minds and cutting-edge corporations. The Jupiter’s remodeled lobby features a custom designed art gallery, exposing all guests to emerging artists and encourages emerging collectors. Acting as a community incubator and featuring art installations, openings are on the first Friday of every month. Hotel guests, tourists and locals alike are welcome to tour the gallery 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Adjacent to the hotel is the Doug Fir Lounge, a renowned indie rock club with live music almost every day of the year, and its popular restaurant with local, sustainable and delicious food from 7 AM to late night. Guest Rooms The Jupiter Hotel offers 81 modern guest rooms, recently renovated and boasting custom-designed desks and headboards by Portland designers Colin Fjeld and Ken Tomita. With pillow top beds, goose down comforters, chandeliers, chalkboard doors inside and out, hand painted wall murals and 32-inch flat screen televisions, each room includes a copy of The Four Agreements, free wifi access and MP3/iPod compatible speakers. The DreamSUITE is a 500-square foot, one-bedroom suite furnished with a wet bar, two plasma televisions, queen bed and bamboo floors. The suite is just the right size for exclusive, private events of 5 - 15 people. In February 2012, the Jupiter Hotel opened their completely remodeled and custom designed lobby as a 700-square foot gallery space. The design incorporated wood and metal elements already existing on the property, pulling through a Pacific Northwest aesthetic while creating a minimalist feel that highlights the artwork. Providing a unique and constantly evolving experience, the Gallery at the Jupiter features new artist installations monthly. Hotel guests, tourists and Portland locals alike are welcome to tour the gallery 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Green Lodging The Jupiter Hotel is committed to enhancing sustainable business practices, and management/staff work with the City of Portland’s Office of Sustainable Development to implement eco-friendly programs on the property, including: Paperless email options for guest receipts, invoices and contracts. Non-toxic and hypoallergenic cleaning and laundry products. Guest room and event space recycling programs for metal, plastic and paper products. Biodegradable and organic shampoo, soaps and body lotions in all guest rooms. Compact fluorescent low-energy lighting that decreases energy use and carbon footprint. Printed material programs incorporate recycled paper products. Water and gas saving energy housekeeping programs. Electra Bicycles available for guest use. Employee subsidies for use of public transportation to and from work. Community The Jupiter’s outdoor courtyards are communal meeting places and an oasis for guests. With clusters of seating, a bamboo garden and complimentary wifi, the courtyards invite guests to mingle. The tented courtyard is available to rent for private parties and is often the scene of creative events – from DJ dance sessions to speakeasy’s and alternative wedding receptions. Dining On the property is the Doug Fir Restaurant and Lounge which offers classic Northwest fare from 7:00 AM to late night. Designed by architect Jeff Kovel of Skylab Design, the Doug Fir Lounge offers cutting edge music nightly, and is a Northwest destination for the best in musical acts. General Info

About The Jupiter Hotel The Jupiter Hotel is the brainchild of developers Tod Breslau and Kelsey Bunker. Established in 2004, the Jupiter is Portland’s first cultural boutique motel turned hotel in what was a seedy 1960’s motor lodge on the edge of downtown. After identifying the property, it’s proximity to the convention center, the downtown entertainment district and the Willamette River, the developers decided it would make the perfect Hotel, Nightclub, and social gathering place with affordable rates, and exciting events. Enlisting the creative force of Jeff Kovel and Skylab Design, the Jupiter Partners created a light filled property, transforming parking areas to bamboo laden courtyards, adding an evening glow with a large fireplace patio, and creating modern, crisp guestrooms that attracts an international array of design savvy travelers and urban nomads. With 81 contemporary and affordable guestrooms, as well as amenities such asMP3 device platforms, and WiFi access, the Jupiter is a destination for travelers looking for a unique experience in urban hospitality. Under the management of veteran hospitality icon Al Munguia, the Jupiter has received national recognition for the hotel’s transformation. The Jupiter has been featured in Elle Décor Magazine, Travel + Leisure, The New York Times travel section, Food and Wine’s “Go List" of the best restaurants and hotels in the world and Condé Nast Traveler’s annual “Hot List” of the world’s best new hotels. GQ chose the Jupiter as one of 4 best “new-old hotels” in its September 2005 issue. The Jupiter Hotel also received the Portland Business Alliance’s Top Ten Growth Awards in 2006. The world-renowned Doug Fir Restaurant and Lounge is open daily until 2 a.m. and offers cutting-edge musical acts every night in its world-class nightclub.
